The Morning Routine That’s Improving Me 1% Every Day

Most people use morning routines as an excuse to procrastinate their work.

Wake up → Meditate → Cold Shower → Journal → Make Coffee → Write to-do list → …

Really?

They do everything except their work.

Today, I’m gonna share with you my morning routine, which is helping me to stay productive all day and complete all my important tasks before 7 AM.

Not just that, this morning routine is also improving every aspect of my life by 1% every day.

Which means if I stick with this routine, I will be 37% better within a year.

You can draw some inspiration from my routine and structure your own routine that fits your schedule.

Let’s get started.

My morning routine starts the night before.

To have a productive day, I need to wake up early.

(I know this because whenever I wake up early, my day seems to go amazingly well.)

Waking up early is a non-negotiable for me.

I always try to wake up at 4 AM.

I usually go to bed around 10:30 PM.

If I go to bed late (12 PM or more), I’ll change my alarm to 6 AM.

If I’m not able to fall asleep soon.

I start reading a book on my phone, or I read my own articles.

And I’ll always make sure to turn on the blue light protection and reduce the brightness to zero.

I read until I fall asleep like a toddler.

Some days I fall asleep too late, some days I fall asleep quickly.

The days when I fall asleep late are the days when waking up early is tough.

But I try my best to wake up. (Sometimes I miss too)

After waking up, I drink a full bottle of water and use the washroom.

Then I immediately sit at my desk and start writing.

I write for 60 minutes during weekdays and 90 minutes during weekends.

After writing, I hit the gym.

I work out for 30–45 minutes. I don’t do the same workout every day. Some days I go for a run. Some days I stretch. Some days I do body weight workouts. Some days I lift weights. This variety helps me build endurance, be flexible, increase stamina, and become strong at the same time.

After my workout, on weekdays, I get ready and leave for my job.

On weekends, I start working on my project (It can be a newsletter, book, or some AI-related stuff).

And yeah. That’s it.

This is my morning routine. Simple but making me better every day.

Note: I’m not perfect, sometimes I don’t wake up early, some days I don’t write in the morning. And some days I procrastinate too. But whatever happens, I make sure that I complete my 3 non-negotiables, which are working out, writing, and working on my project.

If you don’t have any non-negotiables for yourself yet.

Pick yours now!

Hope it was helpful.

See you again!
