How To Write Better Than You Do Now In 30 Days

Writing is the skill of the 21st century.

We are living in a world now where the one who can grab and hold attention with words never has to worry about making money.

But still, 97% of people are not writing online.

2% of people are writing, but not seeing any results (no audience growth and not making any money…yet)

Which means only 1% of people are making all the money and eating all the slices of the pie.

I’m writing this article for the 2% who are writing every day but not getting the desired result.

Let’s be brutally honest here, the only reason you’re not growing is because your writing sucks — you lack the skill of writing online.

But don’t worry, you can write better than you do now in the next 30 days if you just do this 1 thing.

This 1 thing is what helped me grow an audience of 4.5k followers on Medium.

It’s…

Studying high-performing content.

There is a difference between studying and reading.

Reading is passive — you’re consuming information.

But studying is active — you’re consciously trying to understand…

  • why does the writer start with this sentence?
  • why he use this word instead of this?
  • what makes this headline irresistible?
  • what’s so compelling about the hook that made the reader consume the entire content, engage, and leave a comment?
  • why did he structure his content in this format?
  • etc…

When studying, you try to find answers to all these questions.

If you start studying good writing on a consistent basis, say for the next 30 days.

You’ll start to notice a pattern.

You’ll discover the frameworks top writers are using to grab and hold the attention of people.

Once you know the framework, you can use it in your writing and get good results.

This works for everything.

If you want to grow an audience and make money on Medium.

Spend 1 hour every day studying top-performing Medium articles.

By top-performing, I mean the ones with at least 1k+ claps and 50+ comments.

If you want to grow an audience on X(Twitter), study top-performing tweets and threads.

If you want to grow on YouTube, study top-performing YouTube videos.

You can apply this to anything you want.

But before doing all of this, you need to build a foundation in copywriting.

Yes, if you want to see success as a writer online. You need to at least know the fundamentals of copywriting.

Don’t worry, it’s not that hard.

Just read 3–5 books on copywriting.

You’ll know more about copywriting than most people.

My recommendations:

  1. Take Their Money
  2. The Boron Letter
  3. The Adweek’s Copywriting Handbook

Now you might have some questions?

How to study?

What is the process for doing that?

For that, I recommend that you read: Take Their Money.

It teaches you how to study sales pages.

But you can use that same strategy to study articles, tweets, threads, YT videos, etc…
