The Perfect Morning Routine For 9–5ers

Stop wasting your time.

You have a lot of goals, but you never use your time doing the tasks that get you closer to those goals.

Time will not wait for you; whether you make use of it or not, you’ll keep getting older, whether you like it or not.

If you don’t want to look back at your life with painful regret.

You need to make each day count.

But how?

How can you stop wasting your time and be productive every single day alongside working a 9–5 job?

By winning your morning.

I’ve experienced this so many times — whenever I wake up early, I know for sure that I’m gonna have a productive day.

Conversely, whenever I wake up late, my day becomes a mess.

It’s like a domino effect. If I wake up early and do something positive like going for a walk, hitting the gym, or writing an article first, then I automatically start doing more positive things all through the day.

The opposite is also true. If I grab my phone and scroll first thing in the morning then I automatically waste my time watching movies, jerking off to porn, playing video games, and all other stupid stuff.

Simply put, one good act leads to more good acts. One stupid act leads to more stupid acts.

A solid morning routine is your key to staying productive.

Here is my simple 3-step morning routine that you can copy or get inspiration from to build your own routine.

1) Wake-Walk-Water-Washroom

I was struggling to wake up early for so long.

I set an alarm for 5 AM. I hit the snooze button 20 times. Wake up late. Regret my action. Repeat.

This is how my mornings were going for so long.

One day, I got so fed up because of my inability to wake up early, so I decided to do something different.

I set the alarm and kept my phone far from my bed, which means, if the alarm goes off, to turn it off, I have to get out of bed completely, walk a few steps to reach my phone, and then turn it off.

This trick worked for me. Because I’m already out of bed and less likely to go back to sleep.

Then I also started to keep a water bottle next to my phone.

After turning off the alarm, I immediately drink the full bottle of water (1 liter), which wakes up all my internal organs and makes me wanna pee.

Then I use the washroom, brush my teeth, and wash my face.

Now I’m completely awake.

I call this trick: Wake-Walk-Water-Washroom.

2) Hit the gym

As I already told you, once you are awake, you should start your day by doing something positive, if you want to take advantage of the domino effect.

I start my day with a 45-minute exercise.

  • 500 Jump rope.
  • 100 Push-ups.
  • 20 Pull-ups.
  • 60 Sit-ups.
  • 10–15 minutes of stretching.

I used to exercise in the evening for so long, but now I work a 9–5. So, I changed my routine.

After finishing my workout and taking a shower, I sit down at my desk and write for 30 minutes.

I used to write first thing in the morning instead of going to the gym, but one day I thought of trying it the other way around — gym first, writing next.

And I noticed, I was able to focus and write better after the gym than before the gym.

So stuck with this routine.

Sweating first thing in the morning makes everything you do afterward feel easier.

I highly recommend that you move your body after “Wake-Walk-Water-Washroom”.

It doesn’t have to be intense.

Even a 15-minute walk in the morning can do wonders.

Morning exercise leads to:

✅ Deeper sleep at night

✅ Sharper memory

✅ Better focus

✅ Higher energy levels

✅ Boosted mood

✅ Reduced stress

✅ More discipline throughout the day

3) Know EXACTLY what you’re going to do (Plan)

I used to do random stuff all through the day and waste my time.

It was not because I lacked discipline.

It was because I lacked clarity.

So I created a structured routine for myself that I can stick to.

I know EXACTLY what I should do:

  • right after waking up,
  • after finishing the workout,
  • when commuting to my office,
  • between breaks at my office,
  • when commuting back home, and
  • after coming home.

Because I know what to do, it became way easier for me to do them.

If you want to create a structured routine for yourself, follow the steps below:

First, grab a pen and paper and write down all the things you want to.

For example:

  • Write an article
  • Hit the gym
  • Write 3 tweets
  • Read a book
  • Listen to a podcast
  • Learn AI Automation

Then, arrange the tasks in order.

For example, my tasks are writing, reading, and learning a skill.

For writing, I need a lot of mental energy compared to the other two tasks.

So I can do the writing (writing an article and 3 tweets) first thing in the morning after the gym.

Reading is easy for me. So I can do that while commuting to my office.

I can listen to a podcast while commuting from my office.

I can learn AI Automation after coming back home.

Arrange the task and do it for a day, and then you can iterate accordingly.

I hope you get an idea of how you can structure your day for maximum productivity.

Here is a simple trick to make this more powerful…

Visualize yourself doing the tasks.

When I am in the gym, or in the shower…

  • I visualize myself sitting at my desk and writing an amazing article.
  • I visualize myself reading a book while traveling to my office.
  • I visualize myself learning after coming back home.

Believe me, it really helps.

We all love to visualize the result, but not the process.

But it is the process that actually brings the result.

So visualize the process.

It makes it easy for you to do them.

That’s it for today.

Hope it was helpful.
